Luxembourg to offer free rides across Grand Duchy

Luxembourg has opted to make travel free on its buses, trams and trains as part of a bid to cut air pollution and traffic congestion. Prime minister Xavier Bettel says free public transport will be introduced in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg's territory from early 2020. More than 100 million passengers a year use public transport in this tiny but prosperous state wedged between Belgium, France and Germany.
