Happily in an age of rapidly vanishing independent operators, York Pullman is alive and well today, with its traditional dark red, cream and yellow livery on part of a fleet of coaches and school contract buses. Stuart Emmett acknowledges that business's existence in this modestly priced, illustrated history of the original York Pullman, which lasted for 59 years until selling out to the newer Reynard Coaches in 1985. He offers a good account of that company's existence, accompanied by a comprehensive selection of black and white and colour pictures of the buses and coaches it purchased over its last 40 years. Many have come from The Bus Archive that looks after the combined collections of The Omnibus Society and Kithead Trust.
