According to award presenter David McClain (DW McClain & Associates, Inc. - Beaverton, OR), "Most members of the international geothermal community know Yuri Esaki for his broad smile, endless promotion of Fuji Electric equipment packages, his outstanding hospitality suite at our Annual Meetings, and his support for geothermal energy development and the GRC. He has been an active member since the early 1980s, when Fuji became a major equipment supplier for geothermal projects around the world. Largely through his influence, Fuji has become a strong supporter of GRC Annual Meetings, the GRC Foundation, the Geothermal Energy Association Trade Show, and the International Geothermal Association. He has also worked closely and tirelessly in assisting projects of the Geothermal Education Office. Esaki-san has provided a vital international component to the GRC Board of Directors for more than 15 years. He is largely responsible for the tremendous and excellent relationships we have between the GRC and the Japanese geothermal community."
