Tideland Signal has supplied 18 Tideland SB-138P polyethylene buoys to Lamnalco Limited to mark an exclusion zone at the Yemen's new LNG terminal at Balhaf, on the Gulf of Aden, which began exporting in November 2009. The Tideland buoys were supplied complete with SolaMAX 140/6 self-contained lanterns and composite mooring systems. The compact lightweight design features six integral solar panels charging a sealed lead acid battery via a solar regulator. All the internals, including the long-life LEDs and high-integrity electronics, are contained within a tough UV-resistant polycarbonate enclosure and will even withstand being temporarily submerged in salt water. The only time the lantern needs to be opened would be to change the battery, recommended after five years operation.
