Un nouveau centre de formation accrédité en France

After discussions held between IALA and the Directorate of Maritime Affairs (DAM), the Directorate, supported by its technical agencies and the training organisation of the French Ministry of Transport, decided to consider adapting the syllabus for Level 1 AtoN managers set out in IALA Recommendation E-141/1 for use by French and French speaking officers. This initiative was incorporated into the national training programme for 2014. Training for new aids to navigation managers already existed in France and most of the work for this project comprised adapting the current curriculum to match the IALA Recommendation. The work started in June 2013 for the training to be delivered from 8th to 26th September 2014. In parallel IALA and DAM signed a partnership agreement, which covered both hosting French speaking trainees and having the training accredited by the Competent Authority (DAM) in accordance with IALA Guideline 1100. An education manual, describing the curriculum and the content of each module was developed together with a quality manual, which describes the organisation and the measures implemented for the training. Both manuals formed the basis for the audit, which took place on 9th July 2014. Two auditors from DAM, two aids to navigation experts and two representatives of the audited training centres were in attendance. The two auditors recommended to the Director of Maritime Affairs that she should accredit the training. The positive decision was signed on 18th July 2014. Today there are three accredited training organisations in France, delivered in accordance with IALA Guidelines 1100 and 1014. These are the one on Aids to Navigation management, and two on VTS Operator training based in Marseilles and Le Havre respectively.%L'AISM s'est rapprochée en juin 2012 de l'administration française en charge de la sécurité maritime pour mettre en œuvre à destination des agents français et francophones une formation certifiante au management des aides à la navigation issue de la recommandation &-141/1.
