Prof. Qiu Jianrong Honored with Otto-Schott Prize

摘要

Together with two Japanese researchers, Prof. Qiu Jianrong of the CAS Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics recently received the Otto-Schott Award. The awardees were selected for "their outstanding research achievements in the area of optical materials, especially for their pioneering work on femtosecond laser-induced microfeatures in glasses and the application of such novel materials to achieve new functionalities." The prize was presented by the Germany-based Ernst Abbe Fund on April 11 at the 2005 International Symposium on Glass in connection with the Annual Meeting of the International Commission on Glass held from April 11 to 14 in Shanghai.
