STUDIES ON SOME ASPECTS OF REPRODUCTIVE BIOLOGY OF SOME IMPORTANT FISH SPECIES IN LAKE ALAU IN BORNO STATE, NIGERIA

Pendant les quatre mois qu'a duré l'étude (avril à juillet 1993), au total 67 poissons femelles appartenant à trois familles différentes (Characidae, Schilbedae et Cichlidae) étaient recueillies d'un lac naturel dans le nord-est du Nigeria, envue d'étudier certains aspects de la biologie reproductive, y compris l'indice gonado - somatique, la fécondité et le diamètre de l'oeuf, qui permettent de tirer une conclusion sur la capacité à frayer, la saison de frai et le comportement de ces espèces.%During the 4 months of study period from April to July, 1993 a total of 67 female fishes from three different families (Characidae, Schilbedae and Cichlidae) were collected from a natural lake in north-eastern region of Nigeria for study of some aspects of reproductive biology including gonado-somatic index, fecundity and ova diameter which lead to conclusion about the spawning capacity, time and behaviour of these species.
