Cameroon bauxite looking more likely

Canyon Resources has greatly increased its reserves estimate for its bauxite concession in Cameroon, which should pave the way for development and export. Australian firm Canyon increased its indicated resource estimate on its Minim Martap prospect by 850%, and its total resource estimate by 62% to 892 Mt, including 45.1% alumina. Phillip Gallagher, managing director of Canyon, said: "Upgrading the Minim Martap resource to nearly 900 Mt of high-grade, low contaminant bauxite confirms the Minim Martap Project as a global tier 1 bauxite asset." He added that the bauxite was suitable for both high and low temperature refineries.
