Mongolia to rail coal to China

Ulan Bator is planning to build a railway to link its giant Tavan Tol-goi (TT) coal deposit with China's border by 2021. The initiative is intended to secure the delivery of up to 30 Mt of Mongolian coal to China each year, according to Samdandobji Ashid-munkh, chief investment officer of Erdenes-Tavan Tolgoi (ETT), the state-run company in charge of the project. The railway could be constructed within two years of TT's IPO, slated for Q1 2019.
