Stationary primary crushers are permanently located at one site, often some distance from the quarry or mine work face, and are serviced with rock/ore by off-highway haulers. Although effective, one issue with this approach is the cost of the haulage, which can represent more than half of all production costs (including drilling, blasting, loading, crushing etc) and are rising due to increasing fuel costs.
