New cement handling terminal for Venice

Genoa-based cement and clinker trader Rolcim, part of the Holcim Group, is investing €5M in the development of a new 40,000 m2 unloading terminal in Porto Marghera (Venice), not far from its other plant in Chioggia, also in the Venice lagoon. The new terminal will have a capacity of 14,000t. According to Alessandro Manfredi, general manager of Rolcim, the plant will be ready by early 2008. "The new Marghera plant, where we can use the 14m depth berth to allow larger bulkers to moor, will simplify and rationalise our logistics," he said.
