The current commodity boom and record freight rates are proving a boon for heavy material handling plant manufacturers, making this relatively compact industrial sector the focus of attention for financial markets. Coal and iron ore production cannot be ramped up without access to more handling kit, and new coal-fired power stations or fertiliser projects, for example, cannot come on line without access to heavy plant.
