Matching the loaders to the task

The concept of ship loaders is an extremely broad one and designs are available for practically all bulk cargoes and applications, to meet loading speed requirements between as much as 20,000 tph and 50 tph, as well as local environmental constraints. UK-based B&W Mechanical Handling Ltd, part of Germany's Aumund Group since 2002, recently commissioned a rubber-tyred ship loader with Link Conveyors at Fiskefjord, Greenland to handle Olivine rock, a volcanic rock used in the steel industry as a refractory raw material and slag conditioner.
