Sandvik's big delivery

Sandvik Materials Handling has announced the delivery of the biggest bucket wheel excavator ever designed by the company to Neyveli Lignite Mines, together with beltwa-gons of 11000 tph capacity. Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC), an Indian government-owned corporation, operates the mine, the biggest open-pit mechanised lignite mine in India producing 24 mtpa of lignite. The contracts, totalling about €34M, were awarded to Sandvik in 2005 for the design, manufacture, supply, erection and commission of seven large machines: 1. 3 bucket wheel excavators of 1400 litre bucket capacity and 34m boom length 2. 1 bucket wheel excavator of 700 litre bucket capacity and 30m boom length 3. 3 beltwagons of 1000 tph capacity, 35m long receiving boom and 45m long discharge boom.
