South Korea sets iron ore import record

June was a record breaking month for South Korea's iron ore imports as they surpassed the 6 mt mark for the first time. And Australian iron ore exporters enjoyed success by setting a new record for shipments to South Korea; 4.5 mt in June against the previous high of 3.99 mt in March. Australia has consistently contributed more than two-thirds of Korea's total imported ore requirements, and have year-to-date grown by nearly 10%.
