End of Oz WA grain monopoly

The historic loading monopoly at Western Australia's grain ports has come to an end. Bunge Australia and China's Beidahuang Group are bypassing the CBH Group to establish storage, handling and export facilities at Bunbury and Albany, respectively. Bunge will invest up to A$40M, which includes construction of a 50,000t storage bunker at Bunbury in southwest WA. Bunge has state approval to ship up to 500,000 tpa from the port, which last handled grain in 1988.
