OBA expands in Amsterdam

Dry bulk stevedore OBA Group BV, majority-owned by HES Beheer (73.8%) is expanding its facilities in Amsterdam by 9-ha as a result of acquisition of a neighbouring property, formerly known as ACP, which formed an enclave within the existing OBA terminal . The acquisition gives OBA a continuous site extending to 70-ha and, said the company, the integration will enable it to make significant efficiency savings. The existing storage capacity (2 to 2.5 Mt) is increased by around 600,000t to 700,000t. "It will be possible to make optimum utilisation of the entire, uninterrupted site because there will be no loss of storage capacity due to boundary fences and/or access roads," stated OBA.
