Rainbow to launch Genma MHCs

China's Rainbow Heavy Industries (RHI) is preparing to launch a range of mobile harbour cranes (MHCs) under the brand name "Genma". RHI has a joint venture with Cargotec to produce Kalmar container cranes in China for the export market. It also produces its own STS and RTG cranes in China under the Genma brand. The agreement with Cargotec does not cover MHCs and RHI plans to market its Genma MHC range globally. The cranes will be built in Nantong by Rainbow Heavy Machineries, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of RHI. The company is keeping details of the construction, drive system and components under wraps until an official launch, scheduled for later this year.
