Bunge's Bunbury grain debut

In what is claimed to be the first penetration of the CBH Group's monopoly over bulk grain shipments from Western Australia, global grain trader Bunge exported 18,000t of wheat from its new terminal at the port of Bunbury in mid-July. The Handysize bulker dl lavender loaded the wheat from the new A$40M terminal and shipped it to a flour mill at Cebu in the Philippines, in what is said to be the first such export from Bunbury since CBH closed its terminal there in the 1980s. Bunge said it is also the first shipment sourced from outside CBH's own grower network and represents the first tangible result of Bunge's efforts to build its own supply chain in WA.
