Pacific Basin Shipping is the largest operator of Handy-size and Handymax ships in the world with an owned fleet of about 80 vessels. The company generally agreed with the HSH Nordbank synopsis (see main article) and its interim results generally reflected the trends identified by the survey. In announcing its interim results for 2014 (ending 30 June), Mats Berglund, group CEO, said: "We expect the dry bulk market to show improvement in Q4 2014, albeit from a low base. Overall, future supply and demand fundamentals look favourable, but market recovery remains fragile as excessive dry bulk supply is not yet fully absorbed."
