CommTrac on the scales

Associated British Ports (ABP) is now using the CommTrac software from the UK's DBIS to manage an unmanned weighbridge at its biomass terminal in Hull. Last year ABP announced a 15-year contract to handle import biomass (wood pellets) for Drax Power at its Immingham, Hull and Goole terminals. ABP uses the CommTrac software at four terminals, including Hull, where it has now integrated an automated weighbridge to scale trucks as they dray biomass from the quayside to warehouse storage, for eventual loading on to rail.
