How feasible is a switch to WWS by 2030? Our plan actually proposes complete conversion by 2050, with substantial conversion (80%) by 2030. We believe this is feasible if the public and policy makers are on board, since all new sources of electric power and transportation would be clean by 2020 and the old infrastructure gradually replaced by 2050. What challenges will be faced attempting to implement such a program? The biggest obstacles are industries with a financial interest in the status quo and lobbyists who support them.We do not believe there are technical or economicobstacles. Transmission infrastructure changes are difficult to implement based on the current regulatory process. That is one potential obstacle that could slow the transition unless policies are put in place to address this.
