Lovell chief attempts second rescue

David Heppell is frank about his firm's predicament. "When I took over the business, it was quite clear we were testing the banks' patience to some degree," admits the chief executive of troubled contractor Lovell. Heppell - who moved from the USA to take the helm of the Hertfordshire-based firm last December - has the unenviable task of turning around a company that has lost money in four of the past five years (£182.5m in total) and is labouring under heavy debts.
