When your mission is to build a town for 6,000 people in four years, it seems sensible to deploy an off-site strategy where possible. To this end, construction partner Laing O'Rourke is looking to use precast concrete solutions on the living accommodation and the main training buildings.rnThe living accommodation in particular lends itself to modularisation. The 3,000-bed spaces can be broken down into four room types - a four-bed space and three single-bed en suites of varying size and finishes for junior ranks, non-commissioned officers and senior officers.
