Galliford Try leapfrogged 17 rival firms to the top of the contractors league table last month, with a £162m contract haul. The firm moved from 18th place in August into top spot in September, with the company boosted by landing four major schemes. Galliford Try won two contracts worth £3S.4m and £24.9m respectively for Peabody - the first a 264-home scheme in the London borough of Tower Hamlets and the second a 168-home project on the site of London's redundant Plaistow hospital in Newham.
