Following on from their report on the potential for fracking in the north of England, the British Geological Society (BGS) has recently published a report on shale formations that identifies huge potential for shale extraction under Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire. The House of Lords Economics Committee report, published earlier last month, described the development of shale gas as a national priority with great potential to create wealth, jobs and enhance energy security.
