New challenge for affordable housing In addition to the points raised in "A plague on all their houses" (page 30,24 April 2015) a new challenge for the delivery of affordable housing has been created by the upturn in the housing market. Housing associations are now finding it harder to compete with the large private housebuilders who have come out of hibernation and are now outbidding many affordable housing developers for land.
