One appointment the new PM hasn't made Until we have a minister for the built environment, we stand no chance of getting our views aired and issues resolved (Reading the signals from our new PM, 15 July). This should be driven and lobbied for by Building to ensure we have representation. Since the Property Services Agency went, the buildings of the government have become run down and no strategy seems to be in place. Paul Morrell started to get the ball rolling as the chief construction adviser followed by Peter Hansford and then the post was dropped. Until a minister is appointed, housing and construction will not get the attention it requires and deserves.
