Firms in limbo after Chelsea gives new stadium the red card

Consultants and contractors have been left counting the cost after Chelsea Football Club pulled the plug on plans to build a new £500m stadium on the site of its existing Stamford Bridge ground in west London. The planned stadium, designed by Swiss architect Herzog & de Meuron, the practice behind the main stadium of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, has been in the pipeline for years.
