Plastic pipe for building services

The application of "plastics" in HVAC piping has become increasingly common in recent years. In many cases these have displaced traditional materials such as copper, steel and glazed ceramic that had, in their turn, evolved from materials such as galvanised steel and terracotta. There are still aesthetic and particular performance considerations that require the use of traditional materials, but in many cases plastic pipes can provide a most cost effective solution. They will have a lower scrap value (so reducing site theft); however, they are more difficult to recycle than metal counterparts (so reducing their sustainable credibility).
