The Government's redevelopment plan for the Central Government Offices West Wing can strike a good balance between conservation and development. Approximately 6,800 sq m of public open space will provide greenery and improve pedestrian connectivity.rnThe proposed new commercial building will be limited to a total gross floor area of about 42,000 sq m, and a maximum building height of 32 storeys. It will have a lot of greenery on its exterior, and will be set back on the site, to allow Ice House Street to be widened. A landscaped footbridge will link it to The Galleria and Central's existing footbridge network.
