Legal disputes in the Asian construction industry are taking even longer to be resolved, according to study from EC Harris. It is found that construction disputes in Asia are taking, on average, 14.3 months to be settled compared to 12.4 months the previous year, an increase of 1 5%. Dispute values in Asia fell from US$53.1 m in 2011 to US$39.7m in 2012. Despite this drop, Asia is still above the global average which stands at US$31.7m. The Middle East continued to experience the highest value disputes at US$65m, whilst disputes in the US had the lowest value at US$9m. The highest increase was in the UK where disputes more than doubled in value from US$1 0.2m to US$27m.
