Secretary tor Development Paul Chan said the Kai Tak River will be transformed into a river corridor with unique features for public activities, creating an important brand for the Kai Tak Development Area. Mr Chan was speaking on January 8, at the prize presentation ceremony of the Design Ideas Competition for Kai Tak River. He said there is strong public support for creating an attractive green river corridor through urban areas to provide space for leisure and public activities while improving the drainage capacity in East Kowloon. The competition attracted more than 90 entries and the jury panel chose 10 designs to serve as references for the river's future development. A roving exhibition of all the entries will be held.
