Cabe has criticised the quality of public space proposed for Ian Simpson Architects' Owen Street scheme in the practice's home city of Manchester.rnIt warned in a design review that the proposal for five buildings ranging between 14 and 49 storeys could "compromise" the quality of the surrounding public space.rnAnd it said a north-facing riverside public space was at risk because of the potential adverse impact on wind conditions the towers could have at ground level.rn"Given its importance to the scheme, it needs to be demonstrated that this is an attractive space," said the report.
