Crystal Palace Park is in a disgraceful state ("Politician tells Crystal Palace architects to 'speak to locals'" bdonline February 28). To see listed structures crumbling, acres of ugly tarmac and unsightly random fences in various states criss-crossing the park does give it a decrepit air; it compares very unfavourably to other parks in south London. Bromley, the GLA and vocal minority nimbys who hold everything back are all culpable to varying degrees. The majority in the area are not against this project but rather apprehensive until more details on traffic, the size of the building and its uses are known. Those opposed will quite naturally make their views known until Arup provides more details of the scheme.
