The NHK STRL Open House this year is the first of the new Reiwa Era. NHK STRL conducted R&D throughout the 30 years of the Heisei Era, implementing new broadcasting technologies and services such as Hi-Vision, digital broadcasting, Hybridcast, and 4K/8K Super Hi-Vision. These achievements are also due to support from all of you, and I would like to offer thanks once again. NHK is now working to promote the full deployment of 4K/8K Super Hi-Vision, which began broadcasting last year, to enrich program production facilities and content production technologies, and to evolve into "Public Media" be fitting the age of broadcasting and communication integration. This also includes providing broadcasting services of the highest standard in time for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 next year.
