THE 1995 IIRB CONGRESS IN FRANCE

TO foster international co-operation and the exchange of information in the field of sugar beet technology, the Institut International de Recherches Betteravieres (IIRB) held its 58th Congress at Beaune in France in June. This was the first such meeting to combine a technical discussion day with study visits to a research station, a sugar factory and field trials. A strong team from England attended, including representatives of the Sugar Beet Research and Education Committee (SBREC), IACR-Broom's Barn, British Sugar and others. Almost 350 delegates from 27 countries in five continents gave a truly international flavour to the congress.
