In her project, What's Left Is Unsaid, Tsang explores her relationship with her mother and questions the role of culture and its influence on identity. "I was born into British culture and I felt the need to reject my heritage so I wouldn't stand out as a child," writes Tsang in her artist statement. "I didn't want to speak the language or know anything about Chinese culture. These thoughts turn to regrets as I cannot speak to my mum properly and really wish I could be closer to her. We can communicate, but only as much as our vocabulary allows, so a lot of things are unsaid."
