We read this article with great interest. The authors describe a series of 41 cases in which only one acrylic implant had to be removed because of infection, giving a high success rate (98%). The advantages of bone cement are that it can be moulded to fit and fill any space, and that the acrylic plate need not be attached to the bone or sutured to the surrounding tissue.
