Role of structural engineers explored at IABSE's spring event

Apassion for creativity and the desire to pin down the secrets of successful collaboration were the forces driving the organisers of the two-day spring meeting hosted by the International Association of Bridge & Structural Engineers in Bath, UK last month (April). A stimulating mix of keynote presentations, panel discussions and workshops event, which was held at the University of Bath in the southwest of England, created the perfect conditions for delegates to get to grips with the creative part of the design process, rather than the more traditional focus on the numerical processes and technical challenges.
