Toyota Tundra Finds Victory Elusive Yet Within Reach

Toyota and racing go hand-in-hand, as evidenced by the carmaker's entry this year into the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS), traditionally featuring only American-made vehicles. Although the new racing Tundras have yet to find their way to Victory Lane, if history is any guide, success won't be long in coming. This season's entry into NASCAR certainly isn't the first time Toyota has chased the checkers in the United States. Toyota got its first taste of American auto racing in 1967 when it joined forces with Carroll Shelby to develop a race-modified Toyota 2000 GT for campaigning in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) C-Production class.
