In the last two months, the 36th America's Cup campaign cycle has taken a turn into the surreal. There are things that you plan for, such as building a test boat, building our AC75 Defiant, being the first team to foil in full scale, planning for moves to Europe, the UK and then New Zealand, having all boxes ticked, and more. But planning for a global pandemic? Not so easy. We are a professional sailing team with the singular focus of winning the America's Cup in 2021. We continue to plan for that success. With any race, as in life for that matter, it is always good to have a solid Plan B, and what follows here is what Plan B has looked like for New York Yacht Club American Magic in the past few weeks.
