It's a bright morning in London and, despite a dawn flight from Milan, Piero Lissoni is the personification of charm. Perched elegantly on a wide cream sofa of his own design, the creative polymath, whose work spans everything from architecture and interiors to furniture and graphic design, smiles genially as he explains his all-encompassing approach. "1 am an architect first," he says. "It means considering the details but also taking an industrial view. If I need to design a glass, for example, first I design the building, the space, the table, the chair, and then put the glass on the table. Then I think about the human body moving inside the space and drinking from the glass."
