'I am not a designer but an architect who designs,' the French architect Jean Nouvel says. Having designed a collection of prototypes for a line of aluminium furniture in 1987, he set up JND (Jean Nouvel Design) in 1995 to develop furniture projects and objects on the side of his architecture practice. More than a 100 pieces have resulted, characterised by their functionality, minimalist forms and rigorous design.
