Sean Ross wouldn't go so far as to characterize the Analog Photography Users Group (APUG) as being on a crusade to save "traditional" photography. But when the New Zealand-based photographer launched his APUG website in 2002, he did so with an awareness that digita imaging is forever changing the nature and meaning of the term "fine art" photography. With the rapidly growing acceptance of digital photography, Ross believes that the practice and appreciation of traditional camera and darkroom craft will diminish, thereby altering the standards and characteristics on which fine art photography has come to be valued in the art market.
