THE WORLD'S LARGEST PHOTOGRAPH

Photographic history was made in 1826 when Joseph Nice-phore Niepce created what is regarded as the world's first photograph, a 10x11-inch image made with a camera obscura showing a view from the artist's window in the French town of Gras. Working with the same photographic principle as Niepce, a group of Southern California photographers have achieved another historic milestone with the creation last July of the world's largest photograph, a 28x111-foot camera obscura image of two airport runways and control tower at an abandoned military station in Irvine, California.
