A joint venture between SynGest and Unitel Technologies has developed and demonstrated a cost-effective catalytic method for bio-jet production. As hydrogen is not used to remove oxygen from the feedstocks, the BoxCar catalytic de-oxygenation method from AliphaJet is cheaper to operate. Processing facilities are less complex, thereby reducing capital costs, while no use of expensive hydrogen means zero variable costs.
