Ed Pritchard, senior vice president, Fleet Management & Purchasing, Silver Eagle Distributors, shared at this year's BevOps conference some pointers for tire maintenance: • Use high-quality repair supplies if you are going to do a repair on a commercial vehicle tire; otherwise moisture can get in and rust can develop. • Tires must be removed from the rim to be properly inspected before being plugged and/or patched. • It is recommended to check the tires regularly to ensure they meet the minimum DOT tread depth requirements. • If you don't have your drivers engaged in the inspection process, you're fighting a losing battle. They should inspect daily.
