Record Q1 revenue for Starbucks

Seattle-based Starbucks Corp. reported that consolidated net revenues increased 13 percent to $4.8 billion for its 13-week fiscal first quarter for 2015, which ended Dec. 28, 2014, in comparison with the same period in 2014. The increase was primarily driven by incremental revenues from the acquisition of Starbucks Japan, a 5 percent increase in global comparable store sales, and the opening of 1,641 net new stores during the past 12 months and partially offset by unfavorable foreign currency exchange.
