A successful historic racer, Reichman cites the DBR1 endurance legend as his favourite Aston. Though the CC100 is far from retro, the influence is clear. The paint scheme is called Stirling Green, in deference to Sir Moss, who raced its illustrious forebear to victory in the 1959 Nurburgring 1,000km race. Like the old car, the CC100 just about has doors, something Reichman and Aston's head of exterior design Miles Nurnberger debated, before adding the bare minimum. Lift those slender bodywork bars, and you slide into an equally minimalist cockpit. There's weatherproof Alcantara and saddle leather, a row of toggle switches and a TFT screen in a carbon binnacle. This sparseness obviously suits the car's speedster remit, but it also points to the arrival of more streamlined tech in the next generation of cars. 'Astons are bought for life, but even so you have to attract the audience that understands technology," Reichman says. "If we can make the car faster, and give them the connectivity, that's the best of both worlds."
